Governor Announces Release Of Illinois Census Data
SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan today announced that the State of Illinois has received the official Census 2000 Redistricting Data File from the U.S. Census Bureau, and will be making large data files available on-line at www.state.il.us/2000census. Census Bureau Delivers Illinois' Census 2000 Population Totals for Legislative Redistricting; First Race and Hispanic Data.
The U.S. Census Bureau today delivered to Gov. George H. Ryan and the majority and minority leaders of the state legislature the official Census 2000 Redistricting Data Summary File for Illinois that, under Public Law 94-171, could be used to redraw federal, state and local legislative districts.
